LACCO AMENO
Lacco Ameno has an area of 2.7 sq km with a population of about 4500 people. The altitude ranges from meters 0 above sea level to 300 of the district mud. The town of Lacco Ameno occupies the north-western part of the island and extends along the sea and the slopes Epomeo. It is the smallest town on the island, but not the least known. Notes are its waters which of Legne, the Capitello, Santa Restituta, Queen Isabella, San Montano and arenas thermal Santa Restituta and stove steamy of San Lorenzo. So in a few years, Lacco Ameno reflection and the island became a pole of attraction of a cosmopolitan life. Lacco Ameno is characterized by a rock called "mushroom" for its singular form. It is situated within walking distance of the shore, and is a mass of green tuff high 10 meters precipitate from Mount Epomeo. Important sights: the Shrine of St. Restituta, with adjacent excavations and museum, the Church of St. Maria delle Grazie, the church of SS. Assunta into heaven, the Church of St. Joseph, the Tower of Montevico, Arbusto with Villa Park and the Archaeological Museum of Pithekusa.
